a wonderfully whimsical first birthday

Welcome to Jessica’s first birthday! We wanted to celebrate Jessica’s first year on earth with a dreamy, romantic and whimsical celebration! Think peach and white – floral and feminine.

What a pleasure and a privilege it was to have Jessica’s first birthday featured by ‘HOORAY mag’ a leading party and entertaining magazine produced in Australia and sold all over the world.

The whimsical floral first birthday party will leave you dreaming of spring! France, and flowers, inspired the decor. The party is filled with beautiful flowers, a flower cart, flower crowns, a flower wall, even a floating flower crown above the sweetest table setting with gorgeous florals, floral infused drinks and floral inspired desserts! It was such a wonderful celebration and the perfect way to welcome the season of spring.

I chose to make white the foundation, and introduced some light timber. I made the colour peach and the beautiful flowers to be the main focus, with an overall romantic feel to it all. Peach tableware made even prettier with gold place settings made especially and personalised with each little guests name.

I was so excited to create something new and fresh, a whimsical floral first birthday for our little Jessica. A pretty-little celebration featuring peach, pink, white and gold. I just love flowers of any description. I drew inspiration from one of Jessica’s second names which is Lily. I was particularly inspired by all the flowers I admired on my recent trip to Europe, in particular my brother’s bride’s wedding bouquet.

‘Pretty in peach’ is the best way to describe the party! As much as I love the colour pink, I wanted to make another colour the focus. Teaming peach with blush, white, a light timber and gold made the peach really pop whilst also having a beautiful whimsical romantic look to it. It was the dreamiest colour palette you ever did see.

A floating floral crown, scattered rugs and gorgeous floor cushions, a macrame hanging and a white peacock style cane chair introduced a hint of boho chic.

When I set a table I like to make sure it looks as chic as possible. I want the party guests to be wowed immediately. I like to go all out designing a tablescape that is stylish and unique, on this occasion I wanted to make the floral arrangements and the colour peach to be the focus. I prettied up our little table setting with colour, pattern and cool texture. I teamed a peach hexagonal plate with a pink hexagonal plate. Recycled milk bottle with a cute floral wrap topped with a gold straw, and the prettiest floral drink stirrer. Pretty menus and gold cutlery lined the plates, which sat perfectly on blush linen napkins. The prettiest golden butterfly place cards with the party guests names etched took the tablescape from romantic to romantic glam in an instant.

Party guests were greeted at the entrance with a flower cart. A gold cart filled with an abundance of flowers, to inspire the little guests to create a flower crown of their very own. We provided a selection of paper flowers, berry bunches, glitter glue, leaf garlands, and bud branches.

We created a spring menu including a delicious grazing station, canapés and a dessert bar. The grazing station featured Australian cheeses, quince and pate, cured meats, antipasto, seasonal fruits, crackers and bread. The two hot canapés were pork & herb sausage rolls, and spinach & feta tarts. The dessert bar included an extravagant floral inspired buttercream and banana birthday cake, elevated on a golden cake stand. Pink chocolate caramel slice, strawberry rose macarons, and marshmallow wands.

The floral hydration station was a definite party highlight featuring ‘the little lemonade stand’. Floral infused water and freshly squeezed lemonade quenched the thirst of all our little party guests.

A gorgeous table setting laid await for the little ones to enjoy all the floral fun! Fresh peach peonies and white flowers captured within gold vases lined the little table setting along with gold tealights. Creating, crafting and styling beautiful fresh floral arrangements that translated and reflected Jessica’s party theme and personality was delivered using the best quality and premium florals. I was beyond happy.

We played a mix of French cafe lounge music thanks to our friends at Spotify. 🙂

The littlest of the party guests had their very own area to play complete with a white slide, grey ball pit filled with white balls, a rocker, and mini white tee pee, with a stunning flower wall.  I organised a chair especially for the guest of honour, a white vintage high chair.

A mini terracota pot of flowers was given to each guest on departure as our way to show our appreciation and gratitude. Each flower pot was given a cute little tag thanking them for helping Jessica grow.

I love to personalise a party! I believe the guest of honour love to see their name, so I recommend splashing it about with the event stationery, signage or cake topper. I also love to provide a personalised keepsake, on this occasion all the little party guests went home with their very own golden disc with their name. I promise your personal touch is welcomed and valued.

Dressing little Jessica in a flower girl dress by Coco Blush Boutique, and a Pandora bracelet. The ‘all dolled up tutu dress’  in champagne glammed Jessica up with a French bodice and fully layered skirt.

My vision was brought to life with a beautiful floral design created especially for this party. A magnificent welcome sign was created, along with a fabulous milestone poster, a gorgeous invitation, menus and bottle labels. I loved how beautiful peach peonies along with eucalyptus leaves were incorporated in the design and delivered within so many pieces that the party guests enjoyed throughout the event.

I was delighted a custom made photo board was made to hold precious memories of Jessica. Twelve photos represented the first twelve months of little Jessica’s first year of life presented on a light timber board. Jessica’s name etched in gold just below the ‘onederful year’ text.  The creativity continued with a custom made cake topper, little miss ONEderful and gold and peach floral drink stirrers! All the acrylic and timber items were beyond fabulous, creative and fun! I personally loved the little gold circular name cards set at each table setting, each one personalised with a stunning butterfly. Thats right every little party guests name was etched on a pretty gold disc – the perfect keepsake from this wonderful celebration!
